Breast Cancer: Where to Start

You’ve just received word, the biopsy is positive and it’s definitely breast cancer. So here’s the good news! Breast cancer is rarely fatal anymore; in fact, doctors tend to look at it more as a chronic illness that requires treatment. So the first thing to get cracking on is your treatment team. It might be helpful to meet with several different specialists/ oncologists to find people you feel comfortable with. These include a radiologist who specializes in cancer, a surgical oncologist and perhaps even a plastic surgeon if your treatment requires a mastectomy.
