This is probably an unpopular opinion, but how about cutting out satellite and cable altogether? You can find lots of show on Hulu.com or a Netflix subscription is much cheaper. WiseBread gives you many more reasons to make the change here. Link I'll go hide in the corner now...

I'd say neither. My parents had DishNetwork, and though they had a lot to choose from, they were lucky if they could ever get a consistent signal. Time Warner Cable in my neighborhood is much more reliable than satellite and we have some decent HD programming.
