What A Difference A Day Makes

Whether you’re taking the first step toward preparing for the worst or picking up the pieces after a natural disaster, you’ve taken an important step toward a new beginning. Welcome to day 1—the first day of the rest of your life.

If you’re recovering from a disaster, there may be a powerful temptation to look backward, to focus on “before.” But over the next month, we’re going to stress the here and now, because that’s what’s important. And if you’re getting these emails because you’ve taken up the task of natural disaster preparation for you and your family, we applaud your foresight.

In either case, we’re confident the next 30 days will hold many new discoveries for you. So give yourself a little pat on the back for choosing today as your first day. But don’t spend too much time patting because you’re going to need both hands to get to work.

Remember you can always check back in at First30Days for natural disaster updates in your first 30 days and beyond.

DID YOU KNOW? Every 30 seconds, an earthquake rumbles somewhere in the world. Obviously, not all of them are destructive, but it’s safe to say you’re not alone if you suddenly feel like you’re standing on shaky ground.
