When are you at your most creative?
A new study suggests we're at our creative peak at 10:04 pm. Is this true for you?
I am most creative early in the morning. I wake up around 4:30-5am and I am motivated and excited with many ideas and alot of energy.
I'm a night owl and I ususally come up with my best ideas after midnight and sometimes in the middle of the night. I am also creative when I drive long distances, this gives me time to think and listen to music which is always inspiring.
If I could work all night I would! Not only am I more creative after 10pm but I also have more brainpower and stamina (or probably less distraction). I agree with the above comments that a glass of wine in the evening boosts creativity, but in the long run it tends to make you feel sleepy before midnight.
By the way, it's now 1.00am in Brussels...
Wow, so specific! I'm definitely not at my most creative around 3-4pm b/c my body always wants ("after school") nap time then. I do like to burn the midnight oil, but I also like the quiet of early mornings.
It does happen sometimes at night for me, but after a good run, bike ride, or long walk, I can be just as creative as at night. It does help to sometimes have a glass of wine but that could be a bad habit to start. I agree the wine helps sometimes if your tired and just not in the mood to be creative but yet you need to get something done.
I'm definitely most creative late at night (and after a few glasses of wine). There's something about the darkness that helps things flow!
