Got A Tip?

Tips

Needs vs. Wants

Icon_tip_4

When you are setting a budget, make a list of needs and wants for your kitchen. Look at pictures in magazines and on web sites for ideas and go to showrooms, if possible. Consider how you and your family use your kitchen, or how you want it to function in your home in the future.

What in your kitchen is broken or must be changed? What components would you dream of having? In your ideal kitchen, how is it laid out? What does it look like? You have control over where you make an investment, so prioritize carefully. A desire can be just as important as a need, but you must be honest with yourself about why you believe a certain element is necessary. Finding a balance between these elements is one of the greatest challenges for homeowners, yet once achieved, it allows you to have a kitchen that suits your lifestyle, fits your budget and fulfills your dreams.
