HI Disciple127,
I think its really brave of you to come on here and state that you want to make a change! I find that oftentimes we let our age or history get in the way of our future and that's why its so important that you're looking forward. If you just look at hollywood you'll see so many people who are seem to be going strong in their 50s. If you want inspiration, just look at Oprah and Madonna!

Just the fact that you're here and claiming this change in your life is great progress! Congratulations on taking a step forward.

Any change involving finances is hard to make; it often feels like it's "beyond your control" and that's where the fear comes in. The best antidote to fear, at least for me, is knowledge. Think about what it means for you to get out of a financial rut. Does it mean paying off debt? Living within your means? Earning a more comfortable salary? When you have defined goals then you can gain the wisdom to go meet them!

Hi, Disciple127

I see you've signed up for the daily tips from Making Change Easier. That's actually a great place to start. The Nine Principles of Change are wonderful to read and really try to put into action, like turning negative thoughts into positive ones. When we tell ourselves we are afraid of something then we become more fearful. When we tell ourselves 'I can do this' we feel so much more confident.

Think about the opportunity you have now and what it means for you. Visualize how much better your life can and will be once you get moving and grooving in the right direction. Look for a way to make this "light" and not "heavy"

One of the many things Ariane touches on with the Nine Principles on the site as well as in her book is the notion that you are stronger and more resilient than you imagine. Think about other hurdles you've gotten over, how you did it and how it felt when you did. Take strength from your past triumphs and know that you have the power within you to make this work.

You can also take strength from the knowledge that there are more people out there who love you and who are pulling for you then you know. It's always the case. We just don't tell each other enough, but you are loved and you can do anything if you put your mind to it and keep your heart in the right place.

I'm pulling for you. (and i've got a pretty strong grip).

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
