Going Long for a Coaching Job

Joshua Irizarry is a 12-year-old Connecticut boy with big dreams. When he heard that the West Virginia University football team was looking for a new coach, he did what many adults would be reluctant to do—he applied for the job.

“Don't think of this as hiring a 12-year-old from a nowhere town, but think of this as hiring a dedicated football mind trying to help a team,” he writes in his application letter. “I would work for any conditions you would wish to provide." The university’s president, impressed by the young boy’s confidence, respectfully declined his offer and chose another “equally qualified” candidate.

If Joshua can pursue his dream in such a bold and unapologetic way, why can’t you? Do one big thing towards pursuing your dream today and see how far you get. [Nashua Telegraph]
