Give Her Ice on the Ice
Trying to create a special, one-of-a-kind marriage proposal is tough work, especially these days. I don’t envy you guys at all on this one.
One option, assuming you still have a job and a little extra cash right now, is to take your sweetheart to Rockefeller Center during the holidays. From now through Jan. 4, $250 will get you the “Engagement on Ice” package, which includes:
* Admission and passes to the ice skating rink
* Skate rentals
* A signature song played during or after the proposal (you have to bring the music)
* A bouquet that is skated out to your new fiancée (she has to say "yes" first)
* Private time on the ice for the proposal and “victory lap”
* A champagne toast at the Rock Center Café.
If you wait until after Jan. 4, the price comes down to $200.
As a girl who just became engaged last year, I love sharing my own and hearing others’ engagement stories. The “Engagement on Ice” package sounds unbelievably amazing, provided your girlfriend can actually ice-skate. Seeing as how I am terrible at it, I would have killed my fiancé had he tried to go this route.
I also want to emphasize that while it’s nice to have a whole “package” deal, don’t feel like it’s a must. Some of the best stories I’ve heard didn’t involve an extra penny. Besides, you’re paying enough for the ring! If your girl is worthy and truly wants to spend the rest of her life with you, she won’t care about the numbers involved with your proposal, just that it’s you speaking from the heart.
What’s the best holiday engagement proposal you’ve heard?
