The one thing someone told me that helped a lot believe it or not is when you burp your baby rock from side to side not front to back. Works like a charm.

I would say that if you are a contractor you should at the very least put away what you will be paying in April for FICA and Income Taxes. Then I would look at what you are spending generally in a month, evaluate your needs vs. your wants and budget accordingly.

Our family switched to just buying gifts for the kids and grandparents a few years ago. Sometimes though a gift is given and it's a bit of a surprise because you have nothing to give back. I've found though that these unexpected surprises go to the core of the holiday. Giving without reciprocal expectation has great personal value.

I have a pretty unusual name and I hated it growing up. I wanted to be a Jennifer or a Heather. Now that I'm older and have a career and a life in my community I like my unusual name. When people refer to me by name there is no way anyone is going to mistake me for a Jennifer or a Heather.

I think sometimes people just have bad days. If you feel like you are welling up just take yourself out of the office for a minute or two to pull yourself together.
