A full time job dealing with breast cancer is very true. I felt like the treatment phase was not as bad as I had imagined. It really helps to have friends, acquaintences to talk to, and someone to go on your chemo visits. I met some patients both in chemo and in radiology that I bonded with and we prayed for each other and kept in contact.Cancer action has all sorts of activities from painting, drawing, exercised to help you limber up, and massages. They have an enormous amount of info to draw from. They are here in KC and I'm not sure where else. Check their website. Link

Very sound advice! Many relationships are severely damaged or worse, ruined by the way things are communicated. Remember, there is alot of time, emotion, and effort on both parts invested in any relationship whether it's a marriage or friendship. Treat the other person the way you would want to be treated, show them your love in the way you deal with problems, not your wrath! If you do, you both will be rewarded for it and it would be terrible and very painful to lose someone that dear and important to you.

The Eastern Philosophies are gaining popularity and as more people of that background establish their roots in the US I guess that is to be expected. What bothers me is the fact that the US began due to Christian beginnings and although the right to religion was in the beginning, I don't think our forefathers had any idea what that was leading to. I know I am opening a bag of worms bringing this up, but our country is in grave danger as the population continues to turn its back on "God" and turn to religions that are not backed by the living God and Jesus Christ who went to the cross unblelmished to pay for our sins so we would not be banished to Hell and the Lake of Fire for all eternity. I would ask all who do not follow or believe in Him to consider this and what their lack of faithin Him, or their allegiance to a religion without a God that is alive today leaves them for their future when their earthly body fails,----and as an ICU RN for 25 years I have seen some very unpleasant and untimely ends of lives. We are given no guarantee of how long we will live, so urgency to answer these questions is of the essence.

I changed to stainless steel pots and pans because of the warnings with nonstick. I don't worry about the possibility of untoward effects anymore. I miss the ease of cleanup, but it is worth it!

Having a job you love I guess is somewhat more rare these days I think because the pace is faster, what you need to know is broader and much more stress. I am an ICU RN and LOVE my job. I know that this is where I was intended to be from the time I started school. Thank goodness they didn't rely on SAT's "back in the day" because they would have told me my math and science scores were too low. Fortunately for me there is much much more to being a good RN than that. Next to raising my daughter, nursing has always been a real PASSION for me. We all are on a growth pattern as we go through life and sometimes we need to sit back and reflect on where our lives are headed and whether we need to make some adjustments. It makes me think of airplane pilots that are given course adjustments as they prepare to land a plane. I think we all get to make adjustments to our lives and careers as we progress along in life. Sometimes we are ready and willing to accept the change, and other times we fight it. Being optimistic is not always the easiest thing to do in the midst of change, but it sure makes it alot smoother and easier. Stay hopeful and determined to try something new especially if what you're doing now has become "stale". Look for the rainbow in your life after the storm!

Be consistent with your mindset.
Don't do what I did and wait til chemotherapy takes off the first 20# to decide now is the time.
EXERCISE no matter how slight at first not only helps but it gets your "endorphins in your brain up" which fights depression or the "blahs"
Remember there will be good and bad days and not to give up.
YOU CAN SUCCEED!

I live in a rented townhouse where the walls are light beige with white trim. They look nice but very newtral. I can only change the colors by pictures and furniture and curtains. That being said, you can do alot with that. I am becoming a Home Interiors Distributor so I can have the luxury of trying different things out at home and using them in my business at a reduced cost. I tend to go towards blues, purples, pinks and my favorite colors are peach and aqua and grayed lavender which I had in my house on wallpaper before we sold it. I loved it there, but into every life a little rain must fall and that was like a tropical depression. We are in need of new furniture and I want to get just the right thing so I keep looking. Any suggestions for a color scheme? Something classy and upbeat is what I'm looking for.
