What's the safest car?
Consumer Reports is always a good source for car safety info:
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/safety-recalls/index.htm
I've also heard that pretty much any car with stability control is much safer than ones without.
If you want to have a car that you'll know you'll need for the long term, you should buy. If you want the coolest, newest car right now and want to trade it in for a newer, cooler car in three years, then take the lease.
However, if you are looking at a lease, know that you're locked into it for the term of the lease, whereas if you buy a car outright you can sell it at any point. Don't make the same mistake I did! See my shared wisdom: http://www.first30days.com/buying-a-new-car/wisdom/show/212
What's the best exercise for getting rid of belly flab?
I'm going to agree with zestouli and say cardio, cardio, cardio! Strength training may further bulk up your midsection without reducing the fat, and the only way to get rid of fat is to burn it through aerobic exercise. So walk. jog, swim, etc.
i'd use a nanny cam, would you?
What's a good web site for looking up symptoms? ?
There's always the Mayo Clinic:
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/symptom-checker/DS00671
(no I'm not related)
There's also WrongDiagnosis:
http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/symptomcenter.htm
and Family Doctor:
http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/tools/symptom.html
Those are some reliable options if you're looking for info outside WebMD.
Is there something I can be doing now, while I'm healthy to preve...
I've had a similar fear of being diagnosed with diabetes (or some other scary illnesses that run in my family) and from everything I've read the best thing you can do is maintain a healthy weight, exercise, eat well and try not to stress. This link from the American Diabetes Association should help: http://www.diabetes.org/pre-diabetes/what-you-can-do.jsp
It sounds too easy though, right? Like there should be something more? There's not—it's really that simple.
Why cant i lose weight?
I would like to suggest that you go to your doctor and get a full physical examination, including blood work and explain your situation to your doctor. I'm not diagnosing you, but in my case I had a thyroid condition that prevented me from losing weight and I didn't find out until my doc decided to test me. You might want to check it out at least to rule it out.
If that doesn't work, you may want to speak with a nutritionist to figure out how you can get on the weight loss track. Your doctor could also probably point you in the right direction.
Good luck!
