Sorry, I didn't finish...it is supposed to actually be just as good, if not better cardio than running because it works your arms so well and really pumps your blood and gets your heart going.
Pilates also has great exercises for your legs that you can do either sitting or laying down.

If you are looking for cardio, there is a cool thing called an arm bike. It is sort of like the pedals o a bike, but for your arms.

How do I start over?

I am a deployed mother. After 6 months away from my daughter(when I left she was 4 months old) I will be returning to her soon. I would appreciate a

My fiancee is in the military and I can only tell you from what i have seen with his niece. I know, not the same as a daughter, but she is a wee-one as well and after his first deployment we invested in a computer camera. This was he could "talk" with her while he was away. When he came back from his last deployment, she was confused for a second (she thought he lived in the computer screen), but after a few seconds, was so excited to play! This might be good for future.
As for right now, thing positive. Your husband has been showing her your photo and telling her who you are, so go in with high spirits! When she sees you excited to see her, she will be excited to see you. :) Smile!! You're coming home!!!! What a FABULOUS thing.
And thank you - for helping to secure our safety!! I truly honor you.

I'm not married yet, but engaged and yes the proposal was really memorable. It's all about what is sentimental for the couple. I have had friends who took their soon to be fiancee to Paris and proposed under the Eiffel Tower. I've had others who buried the ring in the sand at the beach (kind of scary if ya can't find it), but they all had meaning behind them between the couple. My fiance put together a really great basket of our favorite goodies. I loved it because it was unique to our relationship. Nobody else would have Hershey mini-kisses and vanilla bean candles at their proposal. :)

If you're interested in helping out a good cause as well as get in shape, Team in Training - the running group for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is geared for beginner runners...very beginner. It is fantastic! I had never run before and now I've done 4 marathons. I'm not saying you have to go that far into it, but it is a great group. I would also suggest going to a really good running store for sneakers if you don't have new ones now. Your sneakers usually have a shelf life of about 200-300 miles on them and this includes walking. You should also not use the same sneakers you run in to walk in. Your body's gait it different when you run vs. walk and will wear out your shoes differently which could potentially cause injury. So I would suggest getting two pairs of sneakers. One to walk around in when you do walk and one to run in. I would also suggest going to http://www.runnersworld.com/. Fabulous information for people starting out, as well as a book called Chi Running. It is an amazing read and easy to use. http://www.chirunning.com/shop/home.php It lays out how your body should work mechanically without lots of funky words. It also has pictures to help you understand exactly what they are talking about.
Depending on where you live, signing up for a running group is a great way to get into this sport as well as meet other people who are at your pace. Running alone can be great to clear your head, but once you get into longer distances, if you would like, it's always nice to have somebody to chat with when you do run.
You can also log on to www.active.com to check out runs in your area.
Congrats on your decision to get into running. Keep up the good work!!
Oh and may I suggest investing in something called a foam roller. You can purchase it at any sporting goods store. If you Google "using a foam roller" it will show you ways to use it to stretch and massage your legs and back after a run or walk. It is a life saver!
One last thing, invest in a watch. This way you can see your progress as you continue to work. Simple ones like the Timex Ironman is great. Really user friendly and kind of cool looking too! :-)
Best of luck!!! Again, congrats.

I love that I can share files with my friends and I agree that it's fabulous to be able to backup your computer with something so small and portable. I also love that now all of the ipods are so small and sleek.

How frequently do you purge your closets?

I've heard people say if you haven't worn it in a year or two you should donate it.
C_Wachten

I usually go through everything 2 times a year. Once after summer and once after winter. If I didn't wear it, then it goes into a bag and is brought to the salvation army. Totally feels great and makes room for new items.
