aka the "change magnet" I have already enjoyed many experiences in life and would be very disappointed if nothing else changed again.

I went through a big change when I lost my grandmother to cancer. I was 23 years old and had moved away from home for the first time when the cancer first appeared. The feelings of being removed from the family and especially my grandmother were new and scary. The feelings experienced when I moved back to help care for her during the last few months of her life were unsettling and at times tested my core nature. Eventually my grandmother (who was the strength and glue of our small family) passed leaving me with more maturity, compassion and grace. A hard change, but one for the better. I wish I could tell her how instrumental she was in building my character.

Have you ever had a mentor?

Finding someone to take you under their wing could help accelerate your success in your new job.
Ashley_Rutledge

I've been fortunate to have a few, but not at the same time and not always are these people my direct supervisor. I definitely find getting new perspectives on questions/situations helps me develop my own style. I personally don't wish to be exactly like my mentors (even though they are all AMAZING people) but like to take bits and pieces of each to help me move along my own path.

It's great that you found a job you liked. That's half the battle, no? Just some thoughts -- but maybe looking for a job that propels you into the same job after a year on the gig (making money and working your way back towards the job you really like). Or asking a company in the same industry for a position where you can work 40 hours in a different position (one that is open) and offering to spend one Saturday each month (pro bono) helping in the other dept. You may also think about the type of companies that support the firm you eventually want to work for (get to know their business by being a vendor partner or supporting there consumers).

Are there economy-proof jobs?

what are the jobs that are able to weather down economic times, like now?
Ashley_Rutledge

my mother is a nurse and I've watched her work all my life. she has always had a job (sometimes 2 or 3 -- not sure that's so good :)

I was just at a friend's wedding where bride/groom met online. I think there is something to be said for timing. Dating online allows you to meet others who are open to finding a new relationship.

Have you ever owned a pet rabbit?

Did it live inside or outdoors? How did you care for it? How long do pet rabbits live?
Ashley_Rutledge

someone gave me a rabbit when I was in highschool. like any pet -- it was a lot harder to care for then you think. I kept Peter (what else do you name a pet rabbit) indoors, but I think he would have preferred to be outside.
