I certainly hope that I don't have too much difficulty finding another job because of our company's outsourcing. This is a very uncertain time for me, and I am very stressed, concerned and afraid. I require a steady income to pay my bills - still climbing out of the credit from my divorce. I have no idea what I am going to do. I would LOVE To get my Master's in Education or business...but I don't have the money., time, courage...I've been out of the school environment for Sooooo long... Any ideas - I would appreciate it.

I have a teaching degree but had to give it up. I live in Philadelphia PA and the schools here are dangerous and the school district here is corrupt. At this stage of my life (54) I do not want to uproot myself and relocate. I did make a career change and now in Medical Information Technology. I am happier but right now I am out of work due to downsizing. I have sent out resumes and I am still waiting for a response. Hopefully, something will come up soon.

It can be very frustrating (and confusing) to send out resumes and not get any response or feedback, even.

If you think your age is an issue, try sending out resumes without the dates that would identify your age, such as the date your graduated college.

If you really think age is an issue for you, consider finding jobs where your age and experience are an asset, like in education. Many schools need teachers and teacher's aides and someone with knowledge, wisdom, patience and grace would probably fit the bill nicely.
