I've been reading a lot about the ancient Aztecs lately and finding out about their view on the universe has been fantastic. For instance they believed that the fiercest warriors would be reincarnated into hummingbirds. They also had a lot of profound ideas about time and space.
Do you relate with any ancient religions like Greek, Roman or Egyptian? Sometimes exploring our past gives us some great insight into modern spirituality.

I've been reading Saint Augustine's Confessions, and WOW! He's definitely one of THE people to read if for spirituality meets philosophy meets intellectualism. I'm being blown away, and yes, you're right, sometimes going back into the past can help us with the modern-day.
What specific books are you reading?
Although I am of Greek heritage, I have a fascination for Ancient Egypt. Someday I'll travel to see the pyramids, Karnak, etc. I wear a pendant of Isis and feel her love with me.
They were a very advanced civilization. The ancients always have something to teach us.
