The Benefits of Supplements

Icon_tip_6

Supplements are an important way to improve your health and make sure your body is getting the nutrients it needs. Though some vitamins and minerals can do you great good, they should not replace your daily food intake.

When researching supplements, look for whether the product has been tested in independent, double-blind, placebo-control, randomized studies. Since the Food and Drug Administration does not regulate these products, this is the only way to determine if researchers accurately tested the effectiveness and safety of the product.

Start by adding a safe, quality multivitamin supplement. Make sure the vitamin doesn’t contain caffeine and the mineral dosage meets recommended nutrient ranges. Plan to take your supplements every day at the same time: with your morning juice, lunchtime water, or right before bed. Try wearing a colorful string bracelet to remind you of your commitment!

If you want to try something different, such as herbal supplements like ginkgo biloba, get good information about those supplements from credible health sources. Check out the credentials of those who put out the information. Determine whether sources are primarily selling you products or giving you neutral information.
