Maybe lately, your partner has been giving you a weird vibe. She's been coming home later from work, has a new sexy haircut and every time she receives an SMS message her face turns three different shades of red. And then, she goes to take a shower and leaves her cell phone out in the open where it taunts you to come over and investigate just what exactly has been making her blush. Do you pick up the phone to investigate before she can rinse the shampoo from her hair?

According to a survey by Virgin Mobile Australia, spying on your partner's text messages is a fairly popular practice. Not only did 73% of the 500 survey participants admit to sneaking a peak while their partner was in the shower, but 41% admitted to checking while their partner was in the same room! Some partners were not happy about what they saw, and 10% of the text checkers said they had broken up with their partner after discovering a suspicious message.

"In a society when we very rarely let our mobile phones out of our sight, it's quite amazing to think that for a lot of us the minute we jump in the shower, someone might be checking up on us," Amber Morris of Virgin Mobile told Reuters.

Generally speaking, if you're feeling suspicious enough about your partner that you feel you need to check his or her texts, there's probably something up anyway. Save yourself the heartache and angst of deciphering a cryptic message and have a talk with them instead.
