"I wish I had enough words to express what your book has done for me. Thank you over and over. It's like a guidebook to life. When I don't remember how to navigate, or even that I can, it reminds me. What a precious gift."-Deborah

Take a Vacation, Earn More

Take a Vacation, Earn More

According to Yahoo! Hotjobs vacation survey, 51% of participants said they were going to forego vacations this year in order to save money. But, when you miss a vacation, quite the opposite happens. Here's why.

When you feel tired and worn down, your entitlement spending is likely to increase. It starts with something small, an extra cup of coffee this week. Then it goes into something a little bigger like a new outfit. And before you know it, you own that big screen you wanted to wait on purchasing. All because you reasoned that you deserved it. You didn't take a vacation and you work at a job that's sucking the life out of you. That's not saving money, that's spending it!

Outside of entitlement spending, there's also your performance to consider. Most people would like advancement opportunities within the company that they've given so many hours to. But you don't do the company—or your fellow coworkers—any good when you're tapped out. Taking a vacation helps rejuvenate you so that you come back refreshed and ready to work. This renewed sense of energy doesn't go unnoticed come raise and promotion time.

So take a break! Even if it means staying at home and becoming a tourist in your own city, a little R&R won't kill you, we promise. We all need a few days away from the office and the daily stress of our hectic lives. Recharge your batteries and watch how much more you can save! [Yahoo! HotJobs]
