Endurance
Loss is such a hard thing to cope with. It seems like everyone is afraid to lose someone they love, and with good reason. The things we miss are concrete: hugging the person, hearing the person laugh, sharing a meal with the person. Mostly it's all the simple things we miss, the details. But I find that connecting with the spirit of a loved one is possible even in death. The spirit is what we really connect to in life anyway, at least in my view, and keeping that loved one's spirit close to your heart will always help you endure.

Jean, how right you are. I am still aching for the love of my life, we were true partners in every way. I miss his laugh and stupid jokes, his arms around me at night, his smile, his voice---yet, he is with me still and I hear him in my head telling me to move forward. I am trying, I have been seeing a very kind man and he is understanding but I still feel as though I am cheating, kind of crazy, huh? I love this guy but I know he will never replace my husband and so does he. I have learned more about myself in the last few months than I ever knew. I love hard and deeply--my friends and family have let me lean on them as necessary, I was blessed to be married to Tom for the 22 years we were together--he taught me to love, to laugh and to LIVE fully--for those reasons, he will always be with me.
