A Special Honor

You’ve made it through your first week. Maybe this week felt like an eternity, or perhaps it rushed by in a fog. Either way, your resilience and strength are to be commended.

Though the religious or memorial services are likely over, you may want to honor your loved one in a more personal way. This can be something as simple as taking an afternoon to volunteer at your loved one’s favorite social service organization or helping someone your loved one admired with a special project. In either case, giving in a way that’s connected to your loved one is a great way to memorialize his or her kindness and further his or her special cause

In addition to giving, you might consider taking up one of your loved one’s favorite hobbies or a skill that your beloved had always wanted to learn. Taking on the dreams of your loved one allows his or her memory to live on through your work.

DID YOU KNOW? There are health benefits to giving. According to a John Hopkins medical study, giving back to your community can slow the aging process and lead to a better quality of life. Giving is one way to live a healthier life and it’s also a wonderful way to honor your loved one.
