Be a Tortoise, Not a Hare

Remember the saying "Slow and steady wins the race?" Turns out it's true. Slow down at work, with your partner and just in general. You may be surprised at how much sweeter life is when you aren't looking at it at warp speed.

Question:Unplugging appliances

I want to try cutting down on electricity by unplugging appliances when they're not in use. Does this make a difference and, if so, which ones make the most difference?

Answer:

In my home office I have all my equipment, lamps etc plugged into a cord strip so I can shut them all off at once or just select some. Ditto for the family rooms and, bedrooms. I have seen a decrease in our energy bill, every little thing adds up! Also the tools and stuff in the garage.

Answer:

I just started doing this myself. We have been unplugging the toaster, coffeepot, computer, etc. Even though there is no power to the unit, it is still drawing on the power at the outlet.

I'm trying my best to lower energy bills this way also..we shall see.
