Calling All Creative Green Citizens!

Calling All Creative Green Citizens!

It’s getting hard to keep all of the “green” sites straight, but how about one more? Treehugger writes about Creative Citizen, a new how-to site that aims to “refine eco-friendly solutions and to quantitatively track your impact as part of a community of users dedicated to going green.” In other words, you can find out how much energy is saved when you unplug your microwave over night, or submit your own green cleaning supply “recipes” and see those of others.

Much of the larger environmental issues at hand seem so out of reach, and that’s where Creative Citizen comes in: present problems and solutions on a community level and see what members can achieve.

It sets itself apart from the ubiquitous “carbon calculator” sites by focusing on money-saving behaviors and energy-reducing actions, rather than on that $4,000 sustainable couch or brand-spankin’ new hybrid. Do you have any favorite “green” community-oriented websites? [Treehugger]
