What keeps you running?
I just got a new iPod. Hooray! The main reason I bought it was so I could have some jams while I'm running. Now all I have to do is fill it up. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for music that's particularly motivating.
Something fast and peppy! This will sound lame and counter to what I just said, but you can also try downloading podcasts. They keep me focused to the point that I don't really feel the time pass, i.e., will keep you from getting bored from running if that's ever an issue.
Good for you in being committed to your workouts!
Music is a great motivator. I like to mix it up a lot, and I find that old 80's hits work well because they have some of that "cheesy" factor that puts a smile on your face!
iTunes has some great user-submitted playlists in iMix (search 'workout'), and you can also use the Genius function to find new tunes you might like based on what you're listening to now.
I'm not a britney fan (sorry, cwolf!) but agree that upbeat songs are best. I like to rock a playlist of my favorite songs from strong women:
Maps-Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Peek-a-Boo-Souxie and The Banshees
Love is a Battlefield-Pat Benatar
Since U Been Gone-Kelly Clarkson
Hollaback Girl-Gwen Stefani
Take it Off-The Donnas
It sounds cheezy, but Britney Spears' last album is great for running and working out. Most of the songs are upbeat/danceable, so I'm guessing they're pretty good to run to as well.
