The Real First Wives Club

Ever see the movie, the “First Wives Club?" Well, it’s a real club, ladies. A group of NYC women have formed a club based on the movie. They offer a source of support for divorced women who are in different stages of their life, in the midst-of or post-divorce. While the club is social in nature, the supportive benefits are real. The women gather to discuss dating again, children, finances, legal issues and how to move on. They found each other on firstwivesworld.com, a web site devoted to connecting women who find themselves in the same situation. As one member put it, “when you’re single and alone, tomorrow is another day,” she told them. “When you’re married and alone, tomorrow is the same day.” Find out if there is a club in your city, and if not, why not consider starting one? There are so many women who need each other’s support through this difficult time. The New York Times dropped in on a meeting not too long ago. See what they found.
