The Ultimate First Date
Normally, I would say never to go out with someone just because of his or her connections/status/monetary worth. Of course, there are always exceptions.
If you look closely at some of the latest personal advertisements on Craigslist.com, you’ll find men (at least I haven’t heard any women posting ads yet) in the Washington D.C. area looking for a date to the Presidential inauguration ceremony, ball, and after-parties this January. The rumored cost of this package is around $7,000. For the chance to be part of one of the biggest changes in history, I would have responded to one of the ads in a heartbeat. Go figure that my fiancé didn’t agree with my wishes.
So for all the single ladies out there, I say go for it. If you’re the lucky one who snags a date with G. Keith Harris, CEO of Harris Consulting Group, which is an information technology government consulting firm, he openly admits he is looking for romance beyond inauguration night. You never know; it could be your modern day Cinderella story, especially considering some men who hold the tickets have already received almost 1,000 responses.
What do you say single ladies? Would you be willing to play the inauguration-date lottery?
