The Strong, Silent Type

The Strong, Silent Type

They may not know his real name, but thousands of Chinese women caught up in a patriotic Olympic fever know enough about "Second Brother on the Right" to have proclaimed their love and in some cases even proposed marriage to him on message boards and web sites throughout the country.

The mystery man, adored for his boyish good looks and ideal physique, earned his nickname for his role as one of the main guardians of the Olympic flame. The fervor grew even stronger after he was shown valiantly defending the torch from Tibetan protesters. According to Reuters, one of his many thousands of fans went as far as proposing on a tribute-filled message board: "My dear Second Brother on the Right, please marry me!"

Whether you're willing to admit it or not, we have all been caught up in heartthrob fever at least once in our lives and we're willing to bet that at least some of you would have proposed to the likes of a Titanic-era Leonardo DiCaprio or a Rhythm Nation-era Janet Jackson if you were given the chance. Come on and fess up. We wanna hear about it.
