Keep Kissing Those Frogs

This just in from the “Yeah, right” department: Autumn Kelly, a 30-year-old Canadian woman who is set to marry Peter Phillips, says she had no idea he was Queen Elizabeth’s eldest grandson until six weeks into their relationship. The two met at the Canadian Grand Prix in 2003 and ended up going on a coffee date and keeping in touch via e-mail before she ended up visiting him in England. She says it wasn’t until she and her mother saw Phillips on a television special about Prince William that she put two and two together.

While Kelly would have been happy with a mere peasant version of her fiancé—Phillips could pass for William and Harry’s hunky older brother and works for the Royal Bank of Scottland—it probably doesn’t hurt that her future husband is 11th in line to the throne. It’s also quite possible that Phillips found it refreshing to meet someone who had no preconceived notions about him. [Canada.com]
