Change the World in One Hour

Change the World in One Hour

Imagine if millions of people could combine their energies to create a new earth—one of equality, abundance and full potential for all humans. Fire the Grid, a global project for loving intention, has already begun the process.

On July 7, 2007, the largest mass meditation in the history of the world had such a powerful impact on the planet’s energy level that a device at Princeton University recorded a measurement. This was phase one of Fire the Grid.

The second phase will take place on July 28, 2009. Starting at 19:19 Rio di Janeiro time, Fire the Grid invites you to spend one hour using meditation, prayer, thought, music, intention or any other tool to visualize a better world into being.

If nothing else, enjoy an hour of meditation, prayer or positive thinking, knowing that millions of people around the world are doing the same thing at the same time. You never know, maybe you really are participating in an energetic re-creation of the world!

David, I somewhat agree. I'm reminded of the group who sat around praying for the safe return of a little girl, who turned up dead and had been brutally raped. The pastor cried, "Does God have no ears?!"

I'm convinced that prayer and loving intentions are very good, but only to the extent that they motivate people to figure out what needs to be done and go do it. Nothing is guaranteed. I think people in this project are hoping that by meditating, at least some people will be inspired to actually do something to improve the world.

I'm going to try it, and not just forget about it when the hour is over - thoughts do become actions. I share your skepticism about this kharma-measuring device, and would like to know more, too.

Sorry but what device at Princeton, what did it record and how? I am quite curious.

I am also somewhat taken aback by the concept of 'loving intentions'. Intentions are fine, but what I would rather see is the actual act, which I assure you is far, far, far better.

Can you imagine this group of millions seekin out just one lonely person and making him or her unlonely, now that would be one heck of prayer and quite a neat way to mediate the afternoon away.

Again I would ask why visualize (this better world) when one can realize it, simply by getting out and doing 'it'! What a world that would be.
