America's Next Top Models

Are you still trying to decide between a Honda Ridgeline and a Toyota Tacoma, or debating about a Honda Odyssey, Nissan Quest or Toyota Sienna? Perhaps you'd like to consult with a group of your peers. Well, J.D. Power and associates had just released their list of the cars Americans love best; from subcompacts and compacts to SUV's and vans, they found the winners. So, if you're still on the fence about your decision to buy a new car, you might want to check out their list.

In order to get the results for their Automotive Performance Execution and Layout (APEAL) survey, the group surveyed buyers  about 80 different vehicle attributes within 90 days of purchasing their new vehicles. Their feedback included thoughts on driving dynamics, fuel economy, interior and exterior design and more.

Here are some of the vehicles Americans loved the most:

  • Subcompact – Honda Fit
  • Compact – Mini Cooper
  • Premium Sport – Porsche Cayman
  • Midsize Premium – BMW 5-series
  • Compact SUV – Toyota SJ Cruiser
  • Large Pick-up – Chevrolet Avalanche
  • Van – Honda Odyssey

Do other driver's opinions matter to you when you're purchasing a new car? Would this kind of survey affect your decision? [CNN Money]
