I kept an electronic pregnancy journal. I set up an e-mail address for the fetus on gmail and then I e-mailed the fetus when I was at work or on my way home on my BlackBerry. It was a busy mom-to-be's solution to keeping a record of all of the exciting highs and lows of pregnancy. Then I made a pregnancy journal of all of the entries using MyPublisher.com which was easy to do with just a little cutting and pasting. I also told people in my mass e-mail birth announcement that they could e-mail the baby at the same address, so I have pages and pages of well-wishes and memories from friends and family. I love looking back on it now and can't wait to share it with my son.
The best part of being pregnant, besides that wonderful communion you have with your baby, is the joy you can bring to others by sharing your own excitement. Whenever I felt sick, or anxious, or down, I'd talk to a friend and listen to them squeal about how they couldn't wait until I gave birth, or ask my husband to break out the ice cream and feel the baby kicking. Now that she's here, it was all worth it!
