Question:What can I use for baby clothes?

I know I shouldn't use dryer sheets when washing baby clothes, but there is always so much static cling when I don't use them (especially in the winter). Is there a safer alternative out there?

Answer:

I actually read that you should use sheets and not liquid softener... but, in any case, it seems Seventh Generation products are safe and free from the essential oils that could irritate the skin.

I think the issue is the coating left by softeners that makes clothing less absorbent (not good for cloth diapers) but also leaves a coating that compromises any flame retardant.
