Question:Do you need to drink more water when you're pregnant

or does the same guidelines of eight glasses of water a day apply?

Answer:

Pregnant women definitely need to remain hydrated. The Institute of Medicine recommends that they have a little more than the average woman—about 10 cups per day. Once you're breastfeeding, you may need more than that.

A good rule of thumb is to check in with your doctor, and make sure you're getting plenty of fluids when you're hot, exercising or in humid areas.
