Question:How do I stop feeling so indifferent about everything?

I don't care to do much of anything. I've been at my parents place for about 9 months and besides taking the dog for a walk I don't go anywhere. I just don't feel like anything is important enough to do. How can I change my attitude so I can start living again?

Answer:

One thing you could try is to think about a time when you felt really excited or engaged or satisfied about what you were doing. Where were you? Who were you with? What were you doing? Be as specific as possible.

Then you can think about how the answers to those questions resonate with you now - is there a nugget in there that you could tap into now? Even just reconnecting with an old friend or an old hobby or interest can be a step toward finding things that make you excited to get up in the morning.
