You may think it’s adorable: Mom and kid strutting through the mall in their matching outfits. Leggings and a shirt-dress on a little girl? Too cute!

But when do moms take it too far? A good example is purchasing designer clothing that your child will grow out of before you can pronounce the designer’s name. Probably not a good investment. And we’re pretty sure that when Katie Holmes spent $2,500 last year on shoes for Suri, the little cutie couldn’t even tell the difference from discount department shoes. No wait, Suri asked specifically for Louboutins. That’s right.

A controversy sparked on parenting site Babble over the heel situation and language on clothes, such as a onesie that reads, “I’m an accident.” This is obviously the parents’ humor shining through, but is it even funny? Or appropriate?
