I know that , for so many New Year's resolutions, I have 'resolved' to be a kinder, nicer, self-less person. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this dilemma, and if there might be a thirty-day 'format' that help accomplish this.....................
When you find out your child is autistic you are faced with change on many levels:accepting a child that is not "perfect", changing your approach to communication and parenting, dealing with other peoples perceptions, dealing with guilt/shame/rejection/stress/frustration/hope/despair/loneliness/persistence/progress/regression...
Learning to accept your beautiful child's diagnoses as an opportunity to open your heart and see beauty and hope in all people regardless if they are "like us".
How about help with overcoming fear. I'm a stay at home mom and my husband lost his job without any warning 2 yrs ago and we were a breath away from losing it all! That absolutely shook me to my core. He did finally find another job at the last minute but had to move far away from us to take it. That was 2 yrs ago! Since then, my fear of absolutely everything has completely taken over my life. I know lots of Americans are struggling now too. How about some "how to" for worry warts like me who now live in constant fear about everything, all the time. Nothing has ever scared me so bad in my whole life. I don't think I'll EVER be the same.
Change people's focus from "Me & Us" to "Him & Them". There are 6 Billion plus of us, 2/3 rds. of which live day to day with little hope or chance of improvement. We can make a difference. Ariane, you certainly do! My motto, If I help you, who will you help? Pick a "change" from that. The "N" in our C.H.O.S.E.N.rescue mission; "New Life for those who have nothing". New Life can be a big change to many people especially if they have nothing.
I am a disables 51 yr old women, who by profession is a child and family psy,. I am able to do many things because I do not feel sorry for myself at all. However I want so bad to be able to earn some money from home. There are so many ads to work from home I have learned most of then are not honest. I wanted to start a cooking show with children and write a book but just do not know how to go about getting funding as well as other ideas. thank you all for your help and advise. Have a blessed day!
As a wife and mother of 6 (ages 18 to 2 months), and stay at home, I must say, I would love to see a change series for the women like myself who wear many hats but a hat of her own. Being home with the children should be a joy but at times I feel I have lost myself. How do you get back to you as well as maintaining the hats that have to be worn? How do you do this without feeling guilty if you must take some time for yourself?
I know there need to be a change in me (been feeling very blue) but not sure how to do it..
I've often thought what a great idea it would be to have an 'accomplishments' journal. Then when changes come that at first seem frightening, I could look through this journal as a reminder of all I have succeeded at. I believe it would be strength-giving as well as a huge self-esteem booster. Other's compliments and opinions of us are nice, but truly it's how we feel about ourselves inside that matters and propels us forward. And I especially believe we should have our children keep such a journal.
The successes recorded can be the smallest baby steps met in a goal to the huge things! We don't pat ourselves on the back near enough, instead we berate ourselves much too often for not doing this or that. Let's change that up and become positive, successful people who have a true 'can do' spirit. I believe this journal idea would help immensely!
I have been struggling with changes (in EVERY area of my life!) since undergoing treatment and surgeries for breast cancer. I have a feeling that there are others like me out there who could use a little coaching.
