In Jimi's Words

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." -- Jimi Hendrix

This quote struck me as incredibly wise especially after yesterday’s post on Benjamin Zander’s views of power (do those who you lead feel powerful under your guidance?) and given the state of the world today.

We all need to ask ourselves if we expend more energy working towards personal gain (power, money, etc.) or supporting somebody in need. Are we more interested in becoming powerful and feeding our ego or in contributing to the greater good by doing something for someone else and taking a stand for something we believe?

I believe that the more we do for others...the more will be done to us and and sense of well-being. After all, what goes around comes around. And also many times when you look around at the problems of others you will see yours were not so very dire after all. Doing for others will bring us happiness, plain and simple...if we do it unselfishly without expecting anything back in return!
