Grandma Wendy
I married a man with two boys...I have three girls; 5, 14, 24 are their ages. The boys are 26 and 34. The younger has a baby 9 months old. Friends and coworkers when baby was on the way were teasing me about being a grandma. I am 41, and my oldest daughter is already the age beyond my marriage, childbirth, and divorce (all before I was 21) I have a little hard time getting older and the name "Grandma" wasn't setting well with me. Well, when our Caleb got here...I was showing off pictures at work and they started calling me Grandma. I wish now I had spent more time with him over the last nine months... Last Friday the 13th, my stepson missed a step carrying Caleb and they fell to the concrete sidewalk below. Caleb was rushee to the hospital, air lifted to another hospital for surgery...and has been in ICU since...still has tubes and is so medicated that he is unresponsive. I sent him a note on the hospital website where he has a site for journaling and updates and I signed the guestbook... I signed it Grandpa and Grandma...

Dear Grandma, my prayers and intentions go out for Caleb and all the family. he is under the protection of Grace no matter what....sometimes things happen that we cant understand or ask why- simply, what for, how can i give this real meaning.
